Burana Tower is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most renowned historical landmarks, located near the town of Tokmok in the Chüy Valley. Originally built in the 10th-11th centuries as part of the ancient city of Balasagun, the tower served as a minaret for a mosque in what was once a thriving Silk Road settlement.

Today, visitors can explore this 25-meter-tall brick tower, which has withstood centuries of earthquakes, losing almost half its original height of 46 meters. Inside, a narrow staircase leads to the top, offering sweeping views of the surrounding valley—a perfect spot for history buffs and photographers alike.
